THE Sunshine Coast will be able to cheer on two Winter Olympians after Astrid Loch-Wilkinson’s successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Kawana veterinarian will pilot Australia’s two-woman bobsleigh, joining Caloundra’s Chris Spring, who is in the men’s bobsleigh team, in the green and gold in Vancouver.
Astrid had to wait for a decision following a hearing given to the Australian Olympic Committee which lasted five and a half hours on Monday.
“There was a lot of screaming and we did a little chest pump,” Astrid paper bag printing said yesterday after hearing the appeal was successful.
